WHAT IS PERSONALITY

Personality is the unique patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that distinguish a person from others. A product of both biology and environment, it remains fairly consistent throughout life.

Examples of personality can be found in how we describe other people's traits. For instance, "She is generous,

caring, and a bit of a perfectionist," or "They are loyal and protective of their friends."

The word "personality" stems from the Latin word persona, which refers to a theatrical mask worn by performers in order to either project different roles or disguise their identities.

Explanations for personality can focus on a variety of influences, ranging from genetic effects to the role of the environment and experience in shaping an individual's personality.

TYPES OF PERSONALITY

Types of personality is mainly divided in four parts as name as Type-A ,Type-B Type-C, and Type-D

TYPE-A

The Type A personality is known as The Director, The Over Achiever or The Go-Geter. This person is a natural leader and wants to be in control as much as possible. Type A personalities can range from goal-oriented achievers to obsessive workaholics, depending on how they use their talents

Type A contain these kinds of Personality.

  • Ø  AMBITIOUS
  • Ø  COMPETITIVE
  • Ø  MOTIVATED
  • Ø  NATURAL LEADER
  • Ø  PASSIONATE
  • Ø  STUBBORN

Type -A personalities are motivated by challenges, success, winning, and money. The Type A personality is most satisfied when they have direction over a project and can see their vision come to life. However, Type A personalities are the most likely people to become over stressed, and often choose professions that are highly stressful.

TYPE-B

Type B personalities are the opposite of Type A personalities. This personality is known as The Socializer or The Peacemaker and is known for their outgoing attitudes and strong relationships. They are enjoyable to be around in positive situations, but can verge on being needy due to their desire to be loved and to have others approve of them

Type B contain these kind of Personality

  • Ø  ACCEPTING
  • Ø  CASUAL
  • Ø  CHARISMATIC
  • Ø  EASYGOING
  • Ø  RELAXED
  • Ø  SOCIAL

Type - B personalities are motivated by compliments and recognition. They are happy to let Type A personalities be the leaders and have their way — but they need to be acknowledged and respected emotionally. A "thank you" goes a long way with a Type B personality. Type B personalities tolerate and welcome change more than any other personality type.

TYPE-C

Type - C personalities are similar to Type A personalities in their focus on details, accuracy and control. However, the Type C personality is known as The Thinker, The Analyst or The Scientist, and is much more introverted than a typical Type A personality. Type C personalities use logic and rationality to make sense of the world. They can also become easily overwhelmed and prefer to focus on what they can control.

Type C contain these kind of Personality

  • Ø  CRITICAL THINKER
  • Ø  DEPENDABLE
  • Ø  DETAIL-ORIENTED
  • Ø  FOCUSED
  • Ø  OBJECTIVE
  • Ø  LOGICAL

Type - C personalities prefer not to work on team projects at all; they'd rather do their work independently. They are motivated by intriguing challenges and getting their work exactly right and don't necessarily need the credit for doing a good job. They make decisions based on objective facts and gather lots of evidence, so if you're questioning a Type C personality, they're ready to prove you wrong.

TYPE-D

Like Type B personalities, Type D personalities are in touch with their emotions. However, the "D" in Type D is often labeled "distressed," since Type D personalities can have a hard time feeling optimistic. The Type D personality, known as The Supporter or The Philosopher, is sensitive and enigmatic. They experience joy and happiness more intensely than others, but can become more easily anxious and depressed as well.

Type D contain these kind of Personality

  • Ø  COMPASSIONATE
  • Ø  EXISTENTIAL
  • Ø  INSIGHTFUL
  • Ø  OBSERVANT
  • Ø  SENSITIVE
  • Ø  SUPPORTIVE

Type D personalities like their world to be stable. Unlike a Type B personality, those with Type D personalities don't enjoy change. They would rather work at the same job throughout their career and avoid challenges then start a new, unknown profession. Type D personalities fear rejection and can overthink situations easily. However, Type D personalities can be supportive and sincere friends to their loved ones.

      12 good sign OF PERSONALITY

1.   Be confident

Yes, that’s the key. Being confident about who you are and what you are doing is the most important tip for personality development. Never doubt your capabilities and if there is something you need to work upon then put in all the effort so you can come over your fears and gain confidence. Read success stories or surround yourself with motivational thoughts or “encouragements” which can boost up your self esteem and help you in attaining a charming personality. Just everything you do, have faith in yourself and put in your hard work. There can be nothing more appealing in your personality than an incredible confidence.

2.   Check your attire

I am not abruptly beginning to emphasize about your exterior self instead of your skills and abilities but one’s attire has an important role to play while making a desirable impression. And not just that, but it also gives yourself a confidence boost knowing that you look good and are dressed appropriately. Dress up in a decent manner and keeping your surroundings in mind. While flashy colors and too much body tattoos or piercings convey an unprofessional attitude, neatly ironed clothes make you look presentable.

3.    Be courteous

Being courteous is never out of fashion and is well appreciated and respected by everyone. Be humble and greet everyone with a smile. Never shy away from helping or supporting your peers and being available to them whenever they need you. Doing random acts of kindness will not just make somebody else’s day but it will also make you come along as a pleasing person. Also it will give your personality a confidence boost. Be humble and down to earth to your juniors and seniors alike.

4. Be a good listener

Most people do not listen with the intent to understand they listen with the intent to reply.True it is. Being a good listener may not seem like but it is an important step towards achieving a more likable personality. When somebody talks to you, listen with interest and give them all the attention and importance. Maintain a direct eye contact and do not get distracted by the surroundings. It will help you in knowing a better deal about people and attending them in a better way.

5. Meet new people

Meeting new and different kinds of people is a healthy step towards expanding your horizons and exposing yourself to a larger number of things. You get an opportunity to know more about other cultures and lifestyles and it significantly has a positive effect on your own personality.

6. Bring positivity in your outlook

Your thoughts and your actions both need to be positive in order to have an attractive personality. The way we think has a lot of effect on the way how we act. And if one prospers positive thoughts inside his mind
then that also gives him a confidence boost and enhances their personality. Situations and circumstances in life can always be full highs and lows. But in order to adopt a positive outlook towards life, you need to find the brighter side of the things and focus on the good parts.

 7. Know yourself

Obviously before you get on developing something you need to know all about it first. The same goes with your personality. One needs to start with taking a good look at themselves, analyzing their traits, the strengths and weaknesses and everything that needs to be worked upon. Don’t shy away from accepting your flaws and learn about yourself as much as you can.

8. Have an opinion

Having an opinion and being able to confidently put it forward doesn’t just help making your conversations interesting but it also makes you look more influential and well informed around other people. Never shy away from projecting your opinions even if they happen to conflict with those of other people. Be well informed about all the relevant stuff in your surrounding and fell free to have opinions. It will make yourself feel important too

9. Read more often and develop new interests

A man of very few interests has very little to talk about. But if you are well informed about things and cultivate a number of interests, more people tend to like you. You can strike up interesting conversations instead of appearing to be dull and monotonous. When you meet new people you do not have to think about what to say as you can share your knowledge or your interests and get them indulged in conversation.

10. Be a little fun

Oh yes, this is necessary! Being able to find a humorous side in otherwise terrible situations and bringing a little quirkiness of your own is appreciated by one and all. Everybody loves a person who can make them laugh and bring a funny perspective to the regular things of life. One does not need to be all serious and sober all the time but adorning your funny hat (not literally) every once in a while will turn you in to a more charming personality.

11. Work on your Body Language

Body language is just as important for your personality as your verbal communication skills. It tells a lot about yourself and helps people in making accurate conjectures about you. Everything including the way you walk, sit, talk or eat leaves an impact over the people around you and having a correct body language can do wonders for your personality. Walk in an upright position with shoulders straight. Do not droop. Sit in a relaxed posture and make always eye contact while speaking.

12. Be yourself

Though one can always look up to other people to take an inspiration from, but you should still remain your own unique self. Each one of us is different, we have our own sets of skills and flaws and trying to be somebody else gets you nowhere and just simply backfires. Trying too hard to fit in a new group or wanting to belong should never take your authenticity and singularity away. Never try moulding into another person but instead work on being the best version of yourself.

FACTORS AFFECTING ON PERSONALITY
                       AT CHILDHOOD

1. Parental Influence

A child’s personality development depends on how their parents behave with them, the allowances they give the child, the atmosphere that they create at home, and even the way they behave with others. Children often mimic their parents' mannerisms, so it is very critical that parents behave well with and around their kids and become good role models for them.

2. Home Environment

A home with a peaceful and loving environment is the backbone of a child’s mental health and stability. The child should feel relaxed and free to express themself at home. Over discipline and overprotection can make your child either rebellious or dependent. Therefore, to foster good personality development of your child, ensure that you create a friendly environment at home where the child feels adored and encouraged.

3. School Environment

Children spend most of their time in school, hence parents need to understand how the school environment is affecting their personality development. An ideal school must not burden the kids with a lengthy syllabus and curriculum, rather it should have a good mix of extracurricular activities like sports, dramatics, dance, hiking trips, and soft skills development.

Pay attention to the kind of friends your child has and do so without being too intrusive. You can also ask the teachers to help in grooming your child well.

4. Culture

The social behaviour and norms of the society that you and your child live in have a major effect on your child's knowledge, beliefs, thoughts, and habits. A child subconsciously absorbs the values of the culture they grow up in. For example, if a child grows up in a community that is very religious and devoted to praying; that is a habit the child might adopt as well. Or if a child belongs to a country where art and other intellectual things are pursued heavily, their interests will be influenced by that kind of culture.

5. Family Treatment

Some personality traits are based on the position of the kid in the family, but they can be modified if needed. For example, an only child is overprotected by the family, hence they might pick up some negative traits like selfishness. Also, they might not be able to mingle well in a group. So, it becomes vital to ensure that such children participate in various group games and activities and are taught how to share and care.

6. Mass Media and Social Media

It’s the 21st century – the era of entertainment platforms like YouTube, television, movies, Instagram, etc. where even kids are not isolated from watching celebrity and influencer stories. They try to imitate their favourite stars by following related news and social media accounts. While it is nice to acquire some good qualities through media, we need to be careful about not developing any bad traits. Therefore, as a parent, make sure that the media is influencing your child’s behaviour in a positive way only.

A child goes through various phases in life from toddlerhood to school age. Each phase comes with different challenges, experiences, and learnings. It is important to help your child make the most of these years to develop themself into a well-rounded individual.
